Woodhue by Faberge c1939

Woodhue by Faberge: launched in 1939.

Fragrance Composition:



It is classified as a oriental fragrance for women. It starts off with a fresh, spicy top, followed by a spicy floral heart, resting on a sweet, balsamic, powdery base. Warm, ambery oakmoss, evoking the green touched scent of sandalwood, balsam, herb and fern, with green topnotes. It speaks of naturalness, and a casual lifestyle.
  • Top notes: green leaves, Italian bergamot, rosewood, peach, French clary sage, orange blossom
  • Middle notes: lavender, rose, clove bud, jasmine, orris, Zanzibar ylang ylang, cinnamon bark
  • Base notes: oakmoss, balsam, grasses, balsam, Mysore sandalwood, olibanum, amber, cedar, benzoin, civet, vanilla, myrrh, Tibetan musk
 

Bottles:


The early cologne bottles for Woodhue had real turned burl walnut wood screw caps. In addition to perfume and cologne, Woodhue was available in various bath and body products such as soap, dusting powder, talcum powder, and bath oil.









Fate of the Fragrance:


Discontinued, date unknown.


Both the Perfume Purser and the Esprit de Parfum were discontinued in 1966. The 0.4 oz Light Perfume Spray and the 1 oz Non-Aerosol Spray Cologne was discontinued by 1981.
