Cavale by Faberge c1975

The Cavale fragrance by Fabergé, introduced in 1975, exudes elegance and sophistication. Its name, derived from the French word for "mare," evokes a sense of grace and beauty reminiscent of a spirited horse galloping freely across open fields.

Fabergé officially trademarked the name Cavale in 1977, solidifying its place in the fragrance world. However, the brand asserted that its usage began as early as 1975, marking the inception of a timeless scent that continues to captivate fragrance enthusiasts with its enchanting allure.

Partage and Cavale, two luxurious women's fragrances, were imported from Fabergé's French subsidiary, Parfums Fabergé, Inc. Unlike their previous fragrances, which were commonly found in drugstores, Partage and Cavale were exclusively available in department stores. This strategic shift in distribution emphasized the premium quality and upscale nature of these fragrances, catering to a discerning clientele seeking sophistication and refinement in their scent choices. Fabergé's decision to market these perfumes exclusively through department stores further elevated their status, positioning them as coveted indulgences for those with refined tastes.

Bottles:

The exquisite bottles of Cavale were crafted by the renowned designer Pierre Dinand in 1979, showcasing his mastery of form and elegance. Manufactured by Pochet et du Courval, these bottles are a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship that went into their creation.

One particularly special presentation of Cavale was the "Boitier Luxe," a luxurious offering that epitomized sophistication and refinement. Encased within an antique-styled silvertone case, this presentation featured a half-ounce bottle of the fragrance, securely housed within. The case, hinged and fastened with a jeweler's chain, added an extra layer of opulence to the experience of owning Cavale.

Despite its appearance, the case of the "Boitier Luxe" is not crafted from sterling silver; rather, it is fashioned from a silver-toned metal alloy by Decat Paris. This detail doesn't diminish its allure; instead, it adds to the mystique and charm of this special presentation, which was available for purchase at $60 in 1979.

Cavale's "Boitier Luxe" presentation embodies luxury and sophistication, offering fragrance enthusiasts a truly exquisite and memorable olfactory experience.
